In Memorium
General Otis Thompson-Flake
1991 - 2010
It is with heavy hearts that we bid a final farewell to Otis, the cockatiel. Loyal friend and traveling companion for 19 years today. She died peacfully today at home in Plano, Texas.
Accomplishments include:
Survival of many near death experiences, including two nights in a tree
International traveler without ever leaving the comforts of "home"
Tweeting - the antiquated kind of tweeting
Survival of taunting toddlers
Chewing newpaper and chips
Flying onto ceiling fans, and heads
Achieved the rank of General
It took her 19 years to learn these many and varied talents. She will be missed.

so sorry for you loss. our thoughts are with you at this difficult time. may the memory of you kindred dead comfort you as you pass through this time of mourning.
remember how she would land on the edge of your cereal bowl and it would dump all over her? and also the edge of the newspaper every time someone was reading one. always good for a laugh.
sorry to hear about your bird.
congratulations Otis on a long and prosperous life...you were the epitome of rock out whatever!!
that'd be sweet if otis's ghost haunted you. i'm still waiting for flippergap to visit me from the afterlife.
hate to admit how i contributed to said "near death experiences".... the general will be missed.
Kelsey, I was looking on Danielle's blog today and saw your link! How appropriate as we too have had the chance to babysit Otis. We actually named our rocking horse after him. Remember when the girls knocked his cage over while he was in it? It was fun to look at your blog! Darling family, Eden is so beautiful! Cami Russon
